Amadou Dry Fly Patch
A traditional way to bring your dry flies back to life.
Only 20 made in this batch.
Made by hand in our Montreal workshop, this compact fly dryer pairs full-grain leather with thick, natural amadou. A simple tool to keep close at hand during a day on the river.
Dry your flies between casts
Place a wet fly between the amadou faces and gently squeeze to absorb excess water instantly. Especially useful for CDC patterns and other delicate dry flies, the patch helps get your fly ready for the next cast. Rinse off any fish slime first and let the patch air dry after use. The metal split ring makes it easy to attach to your vest, pack or lanyard.
Natural amadou, time-tested on the water
Amadou is a soft, absorbent material prepared from the fungus Fomes fomentarius. Anglers have used it for generations to remove moisture from their flies. Its natural variations in colour and texture make every patch a little different, while the full-grain leather develops its own patina with use.
